The first paid DLC for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, The Lair of the Lost Lord, will be released on December 13 for PS4 and Steam. While we have a good idea when the DLC will drop on Steam, we don't know exactly when the DLC will be available for PS4, but after scouring patch notes, social media and forums, we have some ideas of when's the best time to check.

What's the release time for The Lair of the Lost Lord DLC?

If you plan on playing The Lair of the Lost Lord on your PS4, then I've got some bad news: the PlayStation Store doesn't typically drop DLC at midnight. Full releases sure, but DLC usually isn't available until the morning of the release date. Noon is a common, though not universal, release time.

Ni no Kuni II players on Steam have even more variability when it comes to DLC releases. The previous two updates to Revenant Kingdom were posted at 2 p.m. and 8 a.m. on the day of release, which means a midnight launch for Lair of the Lost Lord is similarly unlikely.

BUT! If our rough translation of Level 5's official Ni no Kuni II website is right, The Lair of the Lost Lord will be available in Japan at 6 p.m., or 4 a.m. EST. It may be early, but that's your best bet if you want to get on the Ni no Kuni II train as soon as possible.

We've reached out to Bandai Namco to confirm both Steam and PS4 download times for Lair of the Lost Lord and will update this article accordingly.
