Overwatch Patch Download Off

Blizzard’s next big update for Overwatch apparently contains “some pretty fundamental changes” – fundamental enough that players will be required to reinstall their game. Details on what the patch will contain are light, but apparently a “substantial number” of “back-end changes” mean that simply patching over the existing download isn’t enough.

  • Normally when a major Overwatch patch is released, it requires a decent amount of free space to download. However, Blizzard has announced today that the next major.
  • Choose your hero and clash on the battle fields of tomorrow. Bend time, defy physics, and wield extraordinary powers in the ultimate team-based shooter.
  • The developer hasn’t given an exact release date for this update yet, but the fact that they’ve begun advising players of the increased download size could mean that it isn’t far off, maybe.
  • The Overwatch League's teams are permanent franchises representing major cities across the globe. The 2019 season starts on February 14, and now you can view (and download) the complete regular-season schedule. Clash on the battlefields of tomorrow in the ultimate team-based shooter. “We know that this isn’t ideal for people on metered connections, so hopefully this announcement helps you prepare for this coming update,” a customer support employee wrote in a forum post. They haven’t yet confirmed when the update will be launched, but outlaw gunslinger Ashe and her robo-sidekick Bob are currently playable on the Public Test Region. In the past, that’s meant the hero will be released within a couple of weeks.

Overwatch Patch 1.14 Release Date Patch 1.14 has been taken off the PTR. When this happens, it gets pushed to live when the next PTR goes up, which is usually the following Tuesday. It’s all going lunar in a new map preview for the Horizon Lunar Colony in Overwatch, over on the official YouTube channel. Now that people have got a good look at the map, the developers have.

These two don’t seem to be the reason for the reinstall, though – in a statement provided to Kotaku the developers said the patch tinkers with a lot of things under the hood to improve load times, optimise memory, and fix bugs. They also noted that there are back-end changes coming to “support future content,” which has fans speculating about long-awaited features like a match replay viewer.

Overwatch requires 30GB of hard drive space, though Blizzard notes that those who have the PTR installed can expect a “significantly smaller” download.

Time to call your fence-sitting friends: Overwatch will be free to play next weekend, starting July 26th. The game will be freely available on Windows PCs, and you’ll have access to the full hero roster if you decide to jump in.

The free weekend kicks off at 20:00 CEST on July 26th, and runs through July 31st at 08:59 CEST. During that time, anyone with a Windows PC can download and play Overwatch for free. You won’t need any special keys or activation codes; just make sure to have a Blizzard account and the Battle.net client installed on your machine.

Overwatch is one of the best multiplayer games on PC.

Once you’ve got Overwatch installed, you’ll be able to jump into Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Overwatch Arcade, and play on 18 maps. It’s the full Overwatch experience, complete with gaining experience, leveling up, and opening loot boxes. Any progression you make and loot you gain over the course of the free weekend will be permanent if you decide to buy the game, as long as you’re using the same Blizzard account.

It’s a good weekend to hop in, too. Overwatch’s newest hero, Wrecking Ball, will be heading out of the Public Test Realm and onto the main servers July 24, which means even long-time players will be figuring out how to play as and deal with the destructive little hamster.

Our Overwatch Heroes guide can help you figure out which member of Blizzard’s growing roster of international characters you might want to start out in if you decide to play during the free weekend.
