I haven't tampered with the core gameplay of CoM DLC too much, as I've been so enthralled with trying my first ever bloodmoon run on the new patch, and it's almost as though I'm playing an entirely new game which has definitely been a fun experience, even if I've rerolled like 5 times now :)
However, I finally got around to killing the Miller on veteran level, which 'activated' the farmstead's endless mode option. Since then, as many of you probably already know, I've had the option of recruiting shard mercs from the stagecoach, and this is where my questions start to arise;
On runs with these guys, I've noticed I don't get comet shards (I think), even though I've definitely killed a lot. I got to Mildred and received her trinket, and then fought the Champion Miller and wiped on him, but now the trinkets I put on that party are unusable for a week while that party is 'fractured,' and again, I don't think I got a reward. Could this be because I wiped? Was I supposed to do something differently?
This next question may seem a bit nihilistic towards the expansion, but I don't mean it to be; besides endless mode, the wandering boss, and the accompanying trinkets, is there anything else? Like, and perhaps the comparison is poor because it was a bigger expansion, but with CC we got the infestation mechanic as well as a wandering boss. As far as I can tell, The Thing From The Stars is the only piece of content from CoM that can be found outside the Farmstead itself (aside from the trinkets).
